Because we know that healthy lifestyles are achieved through nurturing mind, body and spirit, Adult Programs at the YMCA go beyond just working out. In addition to fitness facilities, we provide education that promotes healthier decisions, and offer a variety of programs that support physical, intellectual and spiritual strength.

Whether you’ve participated for years or are just starting out, Adult Programs at the YMCA provide a perfect opportunity to be active, to build community, and to reconnect or start fresh with an activity you love.
The Forest City YMCA offers a wide variety of weekly group fitness classes for all ages, levels and interests. We teach real classes for real people, focusing on your optimal health. From spirit, mind and body classes such as yoga and Pilates, to high-intensity cardio and strength training such as HITT and Ready Lift, we’ve got something for every body and every age. We hope you’ll find a class that’s fun, supportive, fits your schedule and keeps you moving. Classes are included for free in membership. YMCA Group Fitness Classes are for ages 15+ with some exceptions.

The YMCA has a long history and excellent reputation of teaching people how to swim. Home to the world’s first filtered pool, and more importantly, the first group swim lessons, the YMCA is committed to equip swimmers of all skill levels with the tools they need to be confident in and around water so they don’t lose out on the health benefits of exercise, opportunities to bond with family and friends, and the sense of accomplishment when learning new skills. With lap swimming, open and family swim times, water exercise classes, swim lessons and the Gators swim team, the YMCA is well equipped to provide an enjoyable outlet of fun and fitness for the entire family.
Exercising in a pool provides many benefits that helps you strengthen your muscles, improve your agility and promote cardiovascular fitness! The Forest City YMCA also offers equipment for those with special needs.
Active Older Adults
The Forest City Y Active Older Adult Program emphasis is for those 50+ who wish to maintain a healthy, active, and social lifestyle. Our goal is to offer a wide range of activities to suit all levels of tastes with exercise options, wellness programs, and social activities.
