Bridge Builders Jr is an exciting and fun new program at the Y that will get those creative juices flowing.  Participants will act as engineers and learn how bridges are designed to meet load, stress, and aesthetic challenges as they follow the Engineering Design Process to design, build, and test their very own bridge.

  1. Learn about and work through the Engineering Design Process.
  2. Design a bridge out of popsicle sticks that will cover a predetermined distance and hold a pre-calculated load.
  3. Learn how tension and compression forces act on a structure when a load is applied.
  4. Learn to work as individuals and as a team to accomplish a larger engineering project.
