Youth Flag Football
At the Forest City Family YMCA, we take pride in running a robust youth football program that provides a good foundation and a love of the game for elementary-aged (and younger) boys and girls.
All levels of YMCA Flag Football are rooted in four fundamental concepts that we feel are critical for long term youth development:
- Developing the whole person
- Expanding physical literacy
- Structured skill development and acquisition
- Love for physical activity and sport.
We have partnered with the USA Football and the NFL to develop our long term development model so we can assure the best possible program for the youth in our area.
NFL Flag Football (4th-6th)
NFL Flag Football powered by USA Football is our pinnacle youth football program. With over a thousand leagues, NFL FLAG is the largest & most recognized flag football organization in the US & the only one where players wear official NFL gear.
The season begins with a 2 week skills camp followed by team drafts. Once teams are established, team practices will lead to Sunday afternoon games played at the different communities in our league which consists of Forest City, Britt, Lake Mills, Garner, Clear Lake, West Fork, and Central Springs.
Additional Information
- Practices fields are located at the grassy field north of the Elementary School.
- Teams/games are grade level (i.e. 4th graders play 4th graders)
- Game play is 5v5
- Teams limited to 10 players
- No practice on Mondays once regular season games start.
- Detailed season schedules will be provided once all communities have formed their teams.
- Price includes Licensed NFL Team Flag Jersey, Flag Belt, and Mouth Guard
Volunteer coaches are needed. Please call us at 641-585-5220 if you are willing to coach (no experience necessary).
